This Design-Build was constructed for the District of West Vancvouer 4 kilometres north of Horshoe Bay, BC and east of the Sea-to-Sky Highway. The plant consists of a direct filtration system with cartridge filtration backup capable of producing 700 Cubic Metres per day that is housed inside a 140 square kilometre pre-engineered building with Hypochlorite disinfection. A new 1.4km residuals line was also installed from the plant along the Sea-to-Sky Highway to connect to the District Wastewater collection system. The existing asbestos concrete raw and filtered water mains were replaced with fused HDPE piping as well. The project funding came from Build Canada Fund and as a condition of the funding the plant was required to be complete and operational approximately 30 weeks after the contract was awarded and as a result the project was delivered on time and on budget.
